3F: LEVEL 3 FIBERS: The posteriormost few fibers of the optic chiasm are shown here leading into the optic tracts on either side. The tracts are separated by the front end of the infundibulum. The fornix is entering the hypothalamus in its descent from behind the anterior commissure on its way to the mammillary nuclei.
